Heichal Menachem, the Lubavitch Shul in Golders, has set in motion an exciting new project.
The Torah is the most precious article in Jewish life. Our Sages have taught that each and every Jew has a letter in the Torah, which corresponds to his or her soul and spiritual identity. It is a Mitzvah to write a personal Torah scroll. By endowing a letter, word, or Torah portion for yourself, your family or friends, it is as if you have written your own Torah scroll.
Heichal Menachem has commissioned a Sofer (scribe) to write a Sefer Torah of extra special significance. This scroll, the Unity Sefer Torah, is being written in loving memory of the Mumbai Kedoshim HY"D. It is our hope that through this special Torah, the unity and love that shone in Mumbai will continue to radiate in London.
